Hi this is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the Real Life Radio Show, and we
are going to talk to Real People, who had real problems, but found
answers in a Real God. Lately, we have been talking about whether or not someone
who is very selfish and destructive can ever change their ways. Many
feel like once someone is a selfish person, that they will always be
that way. In the American Psychological Association Dictionary,
selfishness is listed as the tendency to act excessively or solely in a
manner that benefits oneself, even if others are disadvantaged. Have
you ever been around someone like this? In our last show we had Salim Muslimani share with us how he grew up feeling insignificant, and went on a hunt to find significance in his life with relationships, drugs, and partying. One thing that stuck out, was his ways being very self focused, and there was an extreme amount of selfishness in his life. He told us how he got married, and the selfish ways continued, until one day, Jesus Christ got a hold of him, and gave him a new heart, and new motives. Salim, welcome back to the show.

Hi This is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the
Real Life Radio Show, and we are going to talk to Real People, who had
real problems, but found answers in a Real God. Lately, we have been talking
about
what percentage of Christian kids leave their parents faith, and change
to becoming either an atheist, or a person of a different religion.
According to a study done interviewing Harvard College students,
apparently only 42% stayed with the same denominational Christian faith
as their parents had. But out of that, 25% had become atheist, 14
percent felt the need to switch to a different religion, and 19% shifted
to more liberal religions such as Unitarianism. Well, the numbers
aren't as high as many in the world would tell you, but there is a good
amount that becomes atheistic, which is 25%. But what happens to them
as
they get older? Do they all fall apart? Well, no. However, in our
last show, Whitney Harris who is a former drug addict, was telling us about how she left her Christian upbringing to experience the life of doing whatever she wanted, just like the people of the world, and she got into methamphetamine addiction, ecstasy, and then eventually got into heroine. She told us how throughout all the partying and drugs, she would experience more depression and more emptiness through it all. Until the heroine addiction drove her to a new low. Today she is going to talk about that experience, and then show us how she came to know her deliverer, Jesus Christ. Whitney, welcome back to the show.

She one day got hooked onto heavy drug use, and couldn't shake it. She is going to detail it out how tormenting this lifestyle was, and why she decided to come back to the Christian faith. Whitney, welcome to the show.

Hi this is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the Real Life Radio Show, and we are going to talk to Real People, who had real problems, but found answers in a Real God. Lately, we have been talking about the fact that many
students are having a decline in religion, but a huge increase in
spirituality, specifically Liberal New Age Beliefs. In US colleges
and university, you can see that those who prescribe to a religion
declines from Freshman to Senior year, but an increasing incline to
spiritual quests, looking for meaning, purpose, and higher levels of
perception and reality. Could someone who is seeking New Age spiritual
beliefs ever return back to their old religion? Well, in our last show, we had Diego Hinojosa share with us how he was a student in medical school, pursuing a future in Medicine in America, and he described how he grew up in a good family with religious ties to the Catholic faith. But as he went to school, he met friends who introduced him to partying, alcohol, and eventually into heavier use of marijuana. In school, he started to pursue more spiritual questions, and sought out new age beliefs. He studied them so much, that he became a teacher to others about new age beliefs and practices, such as the law of attraction, lucid dreaming, and Astro projection. As he was teaching, online he met a strong Christian, who shared the Gospel with him, and he realized he possibly was teaching false things. He began to search for truth. As he was online, he sought out testimonies of people encountering Jesus Christ, and he was convinced himself. He repented from his sins, and he began seeking out relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. And today, he is going to share with us how much this relationship with Jesus Christ has changed his life. Diego, welcome back to the show.

Lately, we have been talking about the reality and
temptation of getting mad at God, and we are going to discover some of the
base roots that accompany that emotion and frustration that a person can feel.
Did you know that 1/3 to 2/3rd's of Americans admitted to sometime in
their lives feeling angry at God? When certain unfortunate changes in
life happen, like financial issues, divorce, surprise medical diagnoses,
death of family members, etc. they can leave one with the temptation
to blame God for the wrongdoing. Doing so can sometimes lead a person
to go the exact opposite way God intended for them to go. But if this
happens,
is the person redeemable at all? In our last show, we had Sherry Damron who grew up in a Christian home, ended up in a horrible marriage and then a divorce that set her on a course of running away from God. She told us how she secretly made a living as a prostitute, and the reality of the pain she felt in that lifestyle, and how she drowned her pain in drugs, alcohol, and parties. She hit rock bottom, and then this is where Jesus met her. Today she is going to talk about how God took her back, and how God had an amazing vision for her life. Sherry, welcome back to the show.

Hi This is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the
Real Life Radio Show, and we are going to talk to Real People, who had
real
problems, but found answers in a Real God. Lately, we have been talking
about the epidemic of the addiction to prescription level opioids, and
what it is doing in our society, and what it does to an individual life.
Now, you wouldn't think a pain killer would be anything dangerous,
but painkillers now are being used in an illegal way in society because
of the power of this drug to activate the reward or pleasure centers of
the brain. This drug is a serious problem because as someone becomes
addicted to the high these pain killers provide, it can lead to
addiction despite the consequences of the behaviors used in order to get
that next high. The reason why it is so dangerous is because of the
unusual
overdose numbers that happen with opioid addiction. In our last show
Luke Thomson how the addiction to pain killers really worked in his life, and how many people were hurt through the process, even he hurt himself literally. The drug gripped all of his emotions and motivations. Today, he is going to share how he got set free from this mindless craze for drugs, and how his mind got set free. Luke, welcome back to the show.

Hi this is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the Real Life Radio Show, and we
are going to talk to Real People, who had real problems, but found
answers in a Real God. Recently, we have been talking about self hatred, and how thoughts of self hatred and self loathing can become a problem for different types of people. We have recently been trying to discover more about the roots of self hatred by having Suzi Yelvington tell us about her past of dealing with this very issue. She told us in our last show that she committed adultery in her first marriage, and it only added to her already heightened feelings of self hatred. She felt guilty, condemned, and no matter what people pleasing she did, it didn't seem to work. So she shared with us how she got into another relationship and dived into cocaine use, and that temporarily helped her to counteract feelings of inadequacy and low self esteem by feeling confident and invincible on the drug. But it only led to bigger issues of hatred in her life, and she couldn't get out of this cycle. But then someone from her hairdressing school told her about Jesus, and asked if she was saved. She didn't understand, and her friend walked her through this mysterious prayer that changed her life where she had an encounter with Jesus and it was like all the weight of self hatred she felt growing up with just lifted off her shoulders. Today, she is going to talk about her continued life as a Christian and how it solved a lot of problems from her past. Suzi, welcome back to the show.

Hi this is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the Real Life Radio Show, and we
are going to talk to Real People, who had real problems, but found
answers in a Real God. Recently, we have been talking about self hatred, and how it can be cultivated in anyone's life. Self hatred can come from low self esteem, or even from being raised in an emotionally abusive home, where in our last show, we had Suzi Yelvington reveal how she grew up always being blamed for her birth, and was told many times that she was a mistake. She grew up with feelings of guilt and self hatred, and tried to take her life at the age of 16, imagining the moment when her mom would find her dead and realize her value. As she got older, she tried to silence the sounds of feelings of self hatred by being a really good person and people pleasing. She attracted a man who seemed wonderful at first, but then it turned bad when he started heavily mistreating her and introducing her to illegal marijuana use. In her first marriage, she endured verbal and emotional abuse, and went heavier into drug use. Today she is going to share how things got worse before they got better, and we are going to learn how she overcame the self hatred. Suzi, welcome back to the show.

Hi this is Evangelist Anh Le, welcome to the Real Life Radio Show, and we
are going to talk to Real People, who had real problems, but found
answers in a Real God. Today we are going to talk about self hatred, and how it can be cultivated in anyone's life. Self hatred is usually present when there is low self esteem in a person, and lead to very destructive behaviors. It is a problem that psychologists and psychiatrists spend a lot of time trying to solve in their patients, but not only those seeking help need help. We can all go through times of self loathing, and it is good to understand where those feelings come from, and how to overcome those feelings. Today, we are going to learn more about that in Suzi Yelvington's testimony, who grew up with very low self esteem due to key incidents in her upbringing that spiraled out of control in her adulthood where she nearly took her own life. Let's learn more about this subject through her life. Suzi, welcome to the show.
